12 Intersting Tidbits

This is a list of 12 things you may find interesting about me… or… may have never wanted to know!  Ha!

  • 1. I served almost 8 years in the United States Air Force.  What you may find interesting is, that my favorite plane is the F-117 Nighthawk.  I absolutely love the design of this plane  It rocks!
  • 2. One of the most therapeutic things I have ever done is to purchase a dog.  What you may find interesting is, that I have a male pug who is named Dekker Black after Christian author, Ted Dekker, and his book, Black.
  • 3. I am an American citizen who is patriotically passionate about my country!  What you may find interesting is, I was born in Cannes, France on the Riviera and didn’t come to America until I was 7!  As a result, I have dual citizenship.
  • 4. I am a military brat, beside having served in the military myself.  What you may find interesting is, that I have lived or visited almost 18% of the world!
  • 5. In May 2002, I graduated from Tulsa Community College with an Associate Degree in English Literature. What you may find interesting is, that I graduated as an Honors Scholar even though I had CFIDS/FMS!
  • 6. In May 2007, I graduated from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor in Theater and a minor in English Literature.  What you may find interesting is, that I graduated Cum Laud despite the severe difficulty I was having with the CFIDS/FMS.  I wasn’t sure I was going to make it to the finish line that last year but I did!
  • 7. I am in my late forties, single, and have lived with CFIDS/FMS for over 20 years.  What you may find interesting is, I just became a grand-mother for the first time on June 13, 2009.  My beautiful grand-daughter, Alyssa Brianna came early and has been an absolute joy and pleasure!
  • 8. I used to be an avid runner, running up to 7 miles a day. What you may find interesting is, even today, I have this innate desire to run the Boston Marathon.  It is still one of my dreams that I refuse to let go of!
  • 9. I have a veracious appetite for books. I can polish off a book (on a good day) in hours.  What you may find interesting is, at one time  (before the mold incident) I personally owned over 760 books.
  • 10. I am a big fan of  Salvation Army.  What you may find interesting is, I had the opportunity to serve with the Salvation Army after 9-11.  I saw first hand the results of the terrorists attacks when I worked with our church helping out in March of 2002.  I will never forget the sight, the smell, and the palatable change in New York during those days, nor the incredible spirit of the American people!
  • 11. I had the opportunity to be part of a two-week women’s conference in the Ivory Coast of Africa in 1998.  What you may find interesting is, the six thousand women attending the conference were mistakenly fired upon by police with tear gas.  I fell and was trampled by those  very women who were trying to escape!
  • 12.  Recently, I shut down my blog of two years, An Unlikely Perspective 2, aka, AUP2, in order to start a new blog in which I could step out and “write what I know.”  What you may find interesting is, the name of this new blog, 4Walls and A View, was the answer to my question, “What do I know?”  The answer was this title of this blog.  Most of my day takes place within the four walls of my apartment, as well as, the wonderful view out my window.
