April 2012 ME Story: Laura Lipscombe

I almost missed this month's story.  I had so much going on I didn't realize today is the 12th of the month and a new Becoming VISIBLE 4ME story is up. That would have been a real shame, because this month's story, by Laura Lipscombe, is really impacting. Many of the feelings and situations...

a Visit to the Laptop Doctor

I am afraid I will be unable to post until next week as my computer is going to the Laptop Doctor.  Google kindly sent me a horrible virus or trojan and my computer is now acting up.  I don’t think my blog has been affected, but please make sure your virus protection on your computer is working and on.

If you receive an email from Amazon with a zipfile for shipping instructions, DO NOT OPEN IT.  It wiped out my virus protection and is now causing my laptop to do crazy things!

I will be back on line as soon as possible!

Hi Dominique – Wanted to share something funny with you. Hope you
get this. My daughter called a little while ago and we had a good
laugh – I said I WISH I could go on a walk with you the weather
has been so nice (I hardly ever say I wish) But this was good.
We started building a funny picture in our minds -
Shelley is wearing a back pack and I’m in it as a “little shrink person
and I’m holding my little shrinked up Sammy. Shelley is pushing
9 month old Ingrid in a stroller and also walking Sandy Girl Dog
on a leash. I’m waving – and we e-mailed the picture to my
brother who is in need of a good laugh – But really only someone with
CFS could toally appreciate such a picture. We had a good time
laughing on the phone over that. Laughing is so good for you
so I hope you got a good laugh too!

Lillie – You and me both. I am so lost without it. I keep reaching for it only to remember it’s at the doctor’s! LOL At least the virus will be gone and they are going to fix the part that broke as well. Thank God for days like today when I can go to the library and use the computers there.

    Oh Dominique,

I’ve come to rely on my computer so much, going without it is like a crisis. (chuckle) Looking forward to seeing(reading) you again soon!

    April :)

April – Girl I have missed chatting with you! I hope you are doing okay! I just realized that my computer really has become my brain. I am so lost without it. Everything is on it! Hopefully I will have it back by Thursday-ish! :-)

  • Toni Bernhard March 26, 2010 at 10:25 am

If you’re like me, I bet you’ve reached for the computer over and over even though it’s at the doctor. I think mine is an extension of myself. I hope you’re not without it for too long.

    • Dominique March 29, 2010 at 12:22 pm

Toni – “an extension of myself” Hmmm…that sounds like a title for a new article/post! Yes, like you I keep reaching for it. I also keep thinking of things I want to take care of only to remember that the project is on my laptop. Sigh! Well, I am taking this time and RESTING, READING and RECLINING! That has to be good.

I hope that patient is on the mend and returns soon, Dominique! My five year old laptop is near death; I expect to replace it within a few months. In the meantime, I’m using the family desktop which is much quicker. But then, I’m hogging it all of the time which makes things difficult for everyone else. Ouch!

Matt – LOL! That sounds like a very challenging situation. I, too, need to buy a new laptop but it has to wait until I get my daughter’s wedding reception paid off!
