"Laura Lipscombe"

April 2012 ME Story: Laura Lipscombe

I almost missed this month's story.  I had so much going on I didn't realize today is the 12th of the month and a new Becoming VISIBLE 4ME story is up. That would have been a real shame, because this month's story, by Laura Lipscombe, is really impacting. Many of the feelings and situations...

4Walls and AView

Prayer, another Award, an Awareness Project..Oh My!

For those of you who read my blog, you may have come to know Renee of, Renee’s Reflections.  Renee is going in for surgery today at 8 a.m. this morning.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today.

If you have an extra moment, I’m sure it would do her heart good to come home and be greeted with a plethora of well wishes!

"blogging Award"Over the weekend, I stopped by Lillie’s blog, A Writer’s Words, An Editor’s Eye, to read about an award she had just received.  I was very excited for Lillie as I have come to enjoy her blog and have gotten to know her a little better.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Lillie had nominated my blog, 4Walls and A View, as one of the four blogs she had chosen to receive the Prolific Blogger Award!  To say I was surprised, is an understatement!  I am honored to received this award and to be in such incredible company!

Even though Renee is in this hospital, I have nominated her to receive the Prolific Blogger Award.

I’m also awarding it to two other blogging friends who don’t blog on CFIS/FMS, but whom most definitely deserves the award as they are some of the most consistent and prolific writers I know when it comes to keeping me up-to-date on what is happening in politics.

If you want to take part in a really great debate about politics, then check out Larry’s blog at, Political Realities!   If you want to keep on top of all the breaking news, Mr. Pink Eyes has a great blog, American Watchtower.

"ME CFS Awareness Project"On a different note, last week, Kerry of, Lemon-Aide, wrote a post about Kirrilly Anderson’s ME/CFS Awareness project, Creative for a minute or two.  Basically, Kerry let us know that this project

[...] will be put together as an exhibit starting May 12th, (ME/CFS Awareness Day).  Right now, 5 journals are making their way around 5 different parts of the world (Australia, NZ/Asia, UK, Europe, USA/Americas).

This is how it works—On the back of each journal is a mailing list.  If your name is on the list, the person whose name is before yours, will send the journal to you.  You fill in a page or a few with creative expression related to your journey with ME/CFS.  It can be writing, drawing, photos, photos of creative projects or whatever creative expression is yours (as long as its PG rated). ) When you’re finished, you mail it to the next person on the list.  (If you’re too sick when the journal is sent to you, send it on to the next person on the list, then add your name to the bottom of the mailing list so it can come back to you.)

By May 12th, Kirrilly plans to have the journal made into an exhibit for ME/CFS Awareness.  He has already published a book called “Creative for a Minute” and hopes to publish these journal pages into another book.

I have to be honest, when I read Kerry’s post, I thought this was an intriguing idea and sent an e-mail to Kirrilly about the possibility of my being part of the project.  Well, I heard back from Kirrilly and am excited to announce that I have been added to the project!  Yesterday, Kirrilly emailed me, yet again, and informed me that I would be receiving Journal #2.  I cannot wait!

If you would like to be part of the project, you still can.  Kirrilly informed me that she,

[...]  will still be taking new participants on board for as long as [she]  can, just in case anyone asks. Anyone interested should email [her] their postal address and maybe let [her] know how they found out about the project. (Trying to avoid spam!)

You can contact Kirrrilly through e-mail @creativeforasecond@gmail.com

Also, you might want to check out Kirrilly’s, Creative for a Second, Facebook page as well.  It always amazes me how creative and talented many of us are!  The Facebook page is also a great place for inspiration if your are having a creative-bloc kind of day!  :-)

If this post is any indication, this week should prove to be quite interesting!

Determined to continue forward,

"Red Signature"

I will still be taking new participants on board for as long as I can, just in case anyone asks. Anyone interested should email me their postal address and maybe let me know how they found out about the project. (Trying to avoid spam!)
