April 2012 ME Story: Laura Lipscombe

I almost missed this month's story.  I had so much going on I didn't realize today is the 12th of the month and a new Becoming VISIBLE 4ME story is up. That would have been a real shame, because this month's story, by Laura Lipscombe, is really impacting. Many of the feelings and situations...

Exciting News!

Do you remember the interview I did with Ayo for his blog, Discovering Purpose?  The original interview turned out to be 4,000 words!  Who can say Dominique is wordy!  LOL!

Well, Ayo decided to cut it down to half so that we could meet the May 12th deadline, therefore, leaving the full interview for the June issue of Life Skills Magazine (Ayo’s Magazine).

Well, things just got a whole lot better…

Ayo is amazing!  He contacted me today because he was thinking about the full interview in the June issue of his magazine and felt that not enough focus would be put on CFIDS, so he wondered if I would mind him doing a bumper edition, which is like a mini-magazine, if you will.  The bumper edition will be sent along with the regular magazine.  Would I MIND!?  Uh … NO!

But get this.  By separating the bumper edition from the magazine, the whole focus will be on CFIDS and CFIDS alone! And it gets better!

Ayo asked me to supply at least 4 other articles written by other people living with CFIDS.

Well, we now have 4 definite yes and one yes/hopefully.  Plus, I may have a male perspective as well.

The theme for the bumper edition  is  “a determined spirit” and would showcase my interview as well as the different articles from all the writers!  Does that rock or what!

Well, to get you really pumped up with anticipation, here are the writers that have agreed to share their story of determination thus far!

1.  Sue Jackson – Learning to Live with CFIDS.

2.  Shelli -  Living The CFS Life.

3.  Jolene – Graceful Agony.

4.  Renee – Renee’s Reflections.

Is this not amazing!  I was stunned when Ayo suggested it!  What a brilliant idea.

Once the bumper edition is finalized and sent out, Ayo will send me a link which I think I will post here on my blog.  You will need that link in order to subscribe to Ayo’s, Discovering Purpose, blog and in order to read the bumper edition.

Who would have thought something as simple as Ayo reading my blog would turn into our own bumper edition!  Wow!

One last thing.  I have been thinking about a way in which we can all pull together and keep the awareness for CFIDS going all year.  I have an idea I am toying with and when I get it more finalized I will let you know.  I think it is doable but I need a friend to help me with some graphics.  Plus, I want it to be so easy  to implement that even Dekker could do it!  :-)

I will also update you on our progress as well as when I get the final approvals from the other two writers!

Psst … You might want to take a look at the right column.  I have made it easier to find what you are looking for and have also added many new CFDIS/ME/FMS blogs.  If your blog link isn’t there and you would like me to add it, just sent me an email!

UPDATE:  Our last two writers have agreed.  They are,

1.  Laurel – Dreams at Stake.

2.  Johan – Life With ME/CFS.

Woo Hoo!  That makes my interview and 6 articles (2 pages each)!  This is gonna be fantastic!

Determined to continue forward,

"Red Signature"
