April 2012 ME Story: Laura Lipscombe

I almost missed this month's story.  I had so much going on I didn't realize today is the 12th of the month and a new Becoming VISIBLE 4ME story is up. That would have been a real shame, because this month's story, by Laura Lipscombe, is really impacting. Many of the feelings and situations...

Mother-of-the-Bride Pantsuit

I was really wiped out today (Tuesday) so my post will be short and sweet!  Hey, I hear those snickers and giggles.  I can do short and sweet.  I think I can!  :-)

I thought I would show you what my friend and I found at the mall…

I am so thrilled because I decided I did not want to wear a dress.  With my balance problems, I think pants are a little more appropriate.

We were at Dillard’s just seeing if we might be able to find what I was looking for.  Never did I think we would find it or that it would be in the very color my daughter asked me to wear – truffle!  I was so excited when I saw it.  Here it is. [you can click on the photo to enlarge it if needed]

"Mother of the Bride Outfit"

I love the color and the style.  I felt really good in it too!  It didn’t hurt any that I have lost 42 pounds now so I went from a really tight 18 to a loose 16!  Now I just have to get my pants and some flats to go with it.

The other good news is that Jolene of Graceful Agony is making me jewelry that will match my outfit perfectly (I won a contest on her blog when I first started reading it!).

I think I will be looking pretty good for my daughter’s wedding!  :-)

Psst!  See I told you I could do short and sweet!  :-)

Determined to continue forward,

I just love Dillards dress pants outfits. I’ve bought stuff there for weddings and such in the past. Not much need for those types of clothes in the last 10 years or so but when I did, I always found something there. The suit is gorgeous!! Congrats on the 42 pounds!! It’s a great feeling isn’t it!!

Sherlock – I love Dillard’s as well. I use to buy my daughter’s ball outfits there every year while she was in school. Thank you. Yes, it does feel good. Only another 40 or so to go!

Fabulous! And congratulations on the weight loss — that’s a great accomplishment, especially within CFS limitations. I’ll have to make that my new year’s resolution.

Dominique — What a gorgeous jacket/top & color!! And congrats about the weight loss… as someone who’s just recently lost 34 lbs., I know what a difference a size makes! (I’m shooting for a 16 myself!) I just know you’re going to look and feel fantastic and your daughter’s going to love how her mother looks. — Hugs, Amy
