Determination isn’t always enough 2 reach My Dreams

Weekly Schedules

I have several things I want to talk about this week but I thought I would share about where I am with my exercising and leave the rest to future posts for this week.

First, my apolgies for not posting anything last week (thanks Patricia for checking up on me).  I actually was brain dead as far as writing ideas for my posts.  I know weird right?  lol

I have made some new changes in my life and it basically comes down to putting my health first with my eating (raw) and my exercising.  I am seeing continued improvements every week.

I still have to plan for rest times and still could not work in any form of fashion as far as a normal 8-5 job.  Despite that, I am working towards a goal to find a balance of exercise, eating, sleeping/resting and having fun plus my writing.

In that vien I have mapped out my exercises and in 8 weeks have now lost another 12 pounds for a total of 85 pounds total (from where I stopped looking at the scale when I hit 260+.  I probably hit 300 before I got motivated to lose when all was said and done).  The below photo shows my progess and I am glad to see the difference although I am not anywhere near where I want to be.

"Weight Loss Photo"

260+ to 187 (March)

Now that I am no longer obeses, just overweight, my next goal is to get down to within my weight range for my frame and age.  That I plan on doing before my 50th birthday in September. The last 25 pounds I will take off over the following 6-12 months.  Right now though, I just want to be back in a healthy range.

As of this week I am now walking Monday – Saturday, doing Ab and arm workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, doing Egoscue and Squats on Tuesday and Thursday, and doing Yoga Twist on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Yoga Abs on Tuesday and Thursday.

I am averaging 3.5 miles a day plus whatever else I am able to do like house cleaning (you can burn some serious calories with house cleaning), dancing, massages (serious calorie burn) and having fun with my friends.

I listen to my body and only do what it is able but I am finding that I am able to push it in little increments for the first time in years.  If I overdo it, I instantly backtrack, rest, and re-tweek my schedule accordingly.

To be honest, however, I’m tweeking upward and not downward  more oft than not, and it feels really good.

As of my last measurement day, I have lost 25 inches since last March.  That alone blows me away.

I have also worked very hard tweeking my diet and am now eating 1420 calories a day.  I started in the 500-600 range so that is another major improvement.

"ORAC Amazing Superfood"

ORAC = Alkaline balanced body

The more I drink the Amazing Grass Superfoods, especially the ORAC, the more my body responds.

This week I am also going to do my four month detox/cleanse.  Even though I am still seeing major improvments, the poisoning has really taught me that the levels of toxins we are exposed to everyday is huge and thus continued detoxing of my liver and my body (especially my brain) are necessary for my health.

Interestingly, even with all the improvements, I still drink 3 shakes a day and only eat 3 small meals a day (snack size) because my body still has problems digesting and breaking food down.  I think that will become better with time and further health improvements.  At least I hope so.

The only down side for me is that my body from my waist to my knees does not match my face as far as toning, losing etc.  I am losing but I had so much fat and weight that I was carrying in my lower half that is has been incredibly slow.

But I’m a pit bull and I don’t give up so forward I go with determination.

As a side note, one thing that the poisoning and regaining my health process has taught me is that determination is not always enough to achieve my dreams.  Often times, outside expertise, encouragement from friends, and motivational objects like my return to Boston in the middle of June plus lots and lots of time are necessary as well.

Determined to continue forward,

Sounds good, Dominique…wonderful in fact. You are doing so well! I sometimes think digesting is my big issue too..body just cannot break it down like I would like! Good insights as usual.

Renee – Thank you. I agree. It takes a lot of energy to break food down and especially in your situation with the lymes, you body if fighting like crazy just with that alone. I can only imagine how challenging it is to digest food on top of all of that.

It’s wonderful that you continue to see improvement.

I am going to try the shakes! I was waiting for the recipes to be posted, and not only do I eat most of those ingredients anyway but I also drink supplemental shakes daily because of nausea and an inability to digest properly many days of the week. So they sound like the perfect way for me to get the nutrients I NEED without all the added chemicals the companies put into things, and without being scared my digestion will just STOP due to nerve problems. Ensure (the drink) has helped pull me through a very difficult time, but now that I have the means to get all these fresh ingredients and you’ve provided those lovely recipes and links, etc., I can’t wait to move on to something better.

I find the alkalizing one most intriguing because several of my doctors have said an alkaline diet is very important, and.. well, I’m not expecting a miraculous healing but I AM expecting my body to at least be able to heal more easily and detox more easily, and if there’s anything I can do to help it, I want that. I know my body will thank me. :) And thank YOU for sharing your story! I’ll definitely be updating my blog with my own results, once I get the shakes!

A Rainbow at Night – I’m sooooo glad you are going to try the shakes. You are now the 12th person to let me know they are going to give them a try. I soooo hope they help each and everyone of you. I can’t wait to read what happens on your blog.

Just a side note that I recalled yesterday, when I started the first 4 weeks I did nothing but the drinks because I was unable to eat. I think that may have a profound impact to because it allowed my body to only deal with healing without worrying about anything else.

      Anyway, just a thought.

      Good luck girl!

With what I have going on, that sounds like what’s going to happen, actually: just me and the shakes! We’ll see! 😀

a rainbow at night – Please let me know how you are doing. I will tell you I didn’t see the changes in the first 2 weeks but my best friend did. I did see them in the second two weeks (a little) and majorily in the 3 two weeks.

    1. Dominique says:
