"The Eagle Has Crashed"

Book Review: The Eagle Has Crashed by Ted Lacksonen

I recently had a friend ask me to read his new book, The Eagle Has Crashed, and I quickly said yes!  Ted has been someone who has been helping me to think outside the box when it comes to the plight of America and politics in general.  I respect his opinion deeply and was excited and honored to...

Wedding and the Promise of Possibility

I finally made it to my friends wedding in Claremore yesterday and as I promised many of you, I am posting the photos here.  Unfortunately I am not in them because the wedding started with out me as I was a little late. But my friend’s wedding went off without any other hitches and was lovely and she and her new husband are quite happy!  It was really nice to see her so happy. My friend did capture one of …

The Long Road Home – Part Three

Well, the last part of my story isn’t quite as fun as the first two.  As a matter of fact, it was a very challenging and emotional part of the journey for me. I think – now that I have the ability to look back at what transpired – I was…

The Long Road Home – Part two

Well, as you know, I flew out to Massachusetts.  That is something I will never do in the future again!  I had breathing problems on both flights and had to use my emergency inhaler like it was oxygen!  I cannot tell you how awful it feels to be…

The Long Road Home – Part One

Well … where do I start!?  So much has happened since I last wrote 5+weeks ago.  There is just no way I could tell you everything that has transpired in those five weeks, plus some of it, I don’t feel it would be appropriate t0 share here.  Having said that, however, I can share the highlights with you! The wedding itself …

Ready, Set, and GONE!

This will be a quick post tonight as I am utterly exhausted and tomorrow I have laundry to do, Dekker needs a bath, and I have to pack for my flight on Monday!  Calgon take me away!  Anyway…

Next Chaper – Jewelry by Jolene

Jolene has no idea that I have chosen to name her jewelry.  For me, it is symbolic of the New Chapter I am beginning – or will be beginning – on October 1st with my new home. You see, I met Jolene of Graceful Agony around January/February of this year.  A few days later, I entered a contest she was having on her blog for some jewelry that she would design and make.  I never dreamed that I would win…

FIRST EVER ONLINE HOUSE-WARMING PARTY!

As I sit here writing my Saturday post – a little late mind you – I have so much on my mind that I am a little overwhelmed today.  In just 8 days I will be packing up my two new pieces of luggage for my trip back East for my daughter’s wedding!  Time is suddenly flying past me, it seems, and I feel like I am teetering a bit! When I return…

Humidity is most definitely not my friend

This week we (Oklahomans) are going to be experiencing over 105 – 115 degree weather.  The doctor at the VA that originally told me that my lungs had been permanently damaged warned me that the humidity would not be my friend.  I don’t think I really understood that statement until today. I have been having to…

Mother-of-the-Bride Pantsuit

I was really wiped out today (Tuesday) so my post will be short and sweet!  Hey, I hear those snickers and giggles.  I can do short and sweet.  I think I can!  I thought I would show you what my friend and I found at the mall…

When ALL is SAID and DONE

Yesterday proved to be a very challenging day for me.  I was struggling with dizziness which seems to come and go, but when it hits, it is bad enough that I struggle doing just about anything. In addition…

I’ve waited for a lifetime for this moment

When the fiasco with my laptop happened, the company wiped out my budget and my checkbook.  Needless to say, trying to remember everything that was in my checkbook was impossible and I forgot three very important payments.  And I got to pay dearly for that oversight.  $295.05 to be exact!  What’s a girl gonna do? I spent about 10 hours on Sunday rebuilding my budget.  It took me several years to develop a budget in excel that makes sense in …
